Firefighters in Blue Ash, Loveland Symmes, Mason, and Sharonville are now equipped with pet oxygen mask kits, thanks to a generous donation from Invisible Fence of Cincinnati. The Northeast Fire Collaborative (NEFC) received a total of eleven pet oxygen mask kits on Wednesday, November 5. Each department will receive one kit per station.

Each kit is equipped with 3 masks to accommodate small, medium, and large pets. A flexible rubber banding surrounds the animal’s snout to ensure a steady oxygen flow is successfully administered to the pet. These masks will only be used after fire events if the pet experiences smoke inhalation. Prior to these masks, firefighters and paramedics had to improvise with human masks, which often did not successfully distribute oxygen to the pet.

“Pets are members of our family. We are very grateful that Invisible Fence of Cincinnati has donated these resources to the Collaborative to better serve our communities,” shared Blue Ash Fire Chief Rick Brown.

This donation is just a small part of Invisible Fence^® Brand’s Project Breathe™ program, which was established with the goal of equipping every fire station in America and Canada with pet oxygen masks. Invisible Fence^® Brand has donated a total of more than 10,000 pet oxygen masks to fire stations all over the U.S. and Canada throughout the life of the program. A reported 120+ pets have been saved by the donated masks so far, including a dog saved on May 25th in Akron, Ohio.
