Duke Energy contractors will be working in the area on a project unrelated to the proposed Central Corridor Pipeline Extension Project.

According to Duke, workers will be replacing aging metallic natural gas services with polyethylene (plastic) material. This is part of Duke’s accelerated service line replacement program (ASRP).

As a reminder, all contractors for Duke Energy must comply with the following:

  • Wear a visible contractor picture ID on the outside of their uniform that identifies them as a Duke Energy Contractor.
  • Have a contact phone number for customers to call and verify the contractor’s identity and purpose.
  • Drive a vehicle with a visible contractor logo.

Duke Energy will be issuing a letter to notify gas customers of the proposed work prior to the actual replacement of their existing gas service.
