Members of the Blue Ash community and beyond came together on August 12^th to clean and revitalize the home of an 89-year-old woman in need of assistance. The long-time resident, who did not want to be identified, worked for the University of Cincinnati for more than 20 years, volunteered at the Aronoff Center and other Cincinnati institutions, and is an avid Reds fan.

Volunteers from the Blue Ash Police Department, Blue Ash Community Church, Maple Knoll Communities Outreach, Meals on Wheels, Council on Aging, People Working Cooperatively, and Hamilton County Public Health spent hours working together. The group fixed and replaced her bathroom sink, installed a new microwave and refrigerator, cut back bushes, and completed general cleaning of the home. They also replaced carpeting, curtains, and a recliner.

Donations of items were made by The Rug Gallery, Blue Ash Community Church, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Blue Ash Presbyterian Church, Council on Aging, Maple Knoll Communities, Blue Ash Police Department Citizens’ Academy Alumni Group, and Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services.

Private donors include Bob Wells, Gail Zix, neighbor Phyllis, Sue Zaeh, Cat Ann Malone, Michael Boggan, Tammy Stemphley, Amy Touassi, and several people who would like to remain anonymous.
