Wading Pool Expected to Open Summer 2017
Over the past winter, construction on the Family Wading Pool has been a focus of the Recreation Center. The re-developed Family Wading Pool will accommodate all ages and abilities. With inclusion, accessibility, and innovation in mind, this uniquely-built and designed pool will feature spray amenities, a play bubble, a dump bucket, slide, and more. Other features include two zero-depth entries, increased visibility for parents, passive and active play areas, and an increased attention to interactive play for little ones who are ready to explore.
Cost savings was also a focus during the design stage. The unique design of the pool permitted the same amount of water usage (30,000 gallons) as the previous pool, which enabled the continued use of existing pumps and filters to save on construction costs. The pool will be more shallow, but have a larger surface area to provide for more accessibility, free-play, and spray amenities.
The Family Wading Pool is expected to open mid-summer!
