City Of Blue Ash Commits to Joint Pipeline Intervention Efforts
Blue Ash, OH (1/27/2017) – Blue Ash City Council unanimously passed a motion Thursday evening, affirming the City’s commitment to move forward with efforts to legally intervene in Duke Energy’s proposed Central Corridor Pipeline Extension project.
The motion will allow the City to contribute funds in a joint intervention effort that currently includes interest from Cincinnati and Hamilton County, as well as other communities to be affected by the project.
The motion reads as follows:
Motion authorizing the City Solicitor to participate, on behalf of the City of Blue Ash, in any joint intervention petition opposing the proposed amended Duke pipeline project and to authorize the City Manager to expend funds necessary to effectuate the City’s involvement in the joint intervention petition.
City officials have continuously voiced opposition for the Central Corridor Pipeline Extension project, which will run a natural gas pipeline through Blue Ash neighborhoods, due to safety and environmental concerns.
