New safety features at Summit Park

(June 20, 2019 – Blue Ash)

New safety features have been installed at Summit Park in Blue Ash.

Today, Blue Ash firefighters, police officers, and park employees learned more about the new AEDs, or automatic external defibrillators.

When a user opens the kit, the AED will speak instructions (see video) and call 911.

The devices explain to the user how to deliver an electric shock to the heart in case of cardiac arrest and are designed for use by anyone.

The AEDs, which can be used on adults and children, are located outside near the Summit Park glass canopy and the Children’s Nature Playscape.

They will withstand inclement weather and operate during power outages.

Summit Park is the third park in Ohio to have the kits installed by Firefighter Safe, based in Centerville, Ohio.
