American Legion Post #630 Honors Two Blue Ash First Responders
American Legion Northeast Post #630 honored two Blue Ash first responders during the October 11th city council meeting. The second annual Safety Service Awards, sponsored by Post #630, recognized Blue Ash Firefighter Jake Bresnen and retired Blue Ash Police Officer Mark Ziegler.
Firefighter Jake Bresnen has been a committed and valued member of the Blue Ash Fire Department for more than five years. Firefighter Bresnen is a Car Seat Technician and works with local families to make sure their child safety seats are correctly installed, as well as teach community CPR courses. He has taken an active role as a mentor to younger department members and helps ensure they are properly trained and confident team members. While on shift, he also works to verify that the department’s EMS supplies and equipment are adequately stocked, organized, and reflect the latest technological advancements in EMS operations. His professionalism and drive to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens of Blue Ash, as well as his co-workers, is why he was selected by the fire department for this award.
Officer Mark Ziegler, who recently retired, was an extremely valuable member of the Blue Ash Police Department for 15 years. In that time, he served as a Uniformed Patrol Officer, Traffic Safety Officer, a certified UAS pilot, and computer forensics examiner. During his employment, Officer Ziegler also proudly served his country as a helicopter pilot and endured three deployments. Over the course of his law enforcement career, he became well-known and respected for his unparalleled degree of integrity, professionalism, and dedication. Officer Ziegler was not able to attend the ceremony and Police Chief Scott Noel accepted the award on his behalf.
American Legion Post #630 Commander Jim Meyers also presented Blue Ash Mayor Tom Adamec with a perpetuity award to be displaced in council chambers.
